100 Days Of Music: Day 13

You know what ?

I’m not even going to apologize for being non-existent anymore.

You try being a university student, working, having a social life and then managing a blog on top of that.

There is a perk to my extended absence in the blogosphere… I have gathered what can only be described as a plethora of new music to share… a gargantuan amount, if you will.

At the risk of this post turning out to be over a hundred thousand words long, I will be brief. I have narrowed it down to a few songs that I think you’ll be delighted to hear.

OKAY. So if this isn’t just one of the greatest songs you’ve heard in awhile, then we need to re-evaluate our friendship. I adore it’s uniqueness. I mean, yes, it has that cliche whistling and tambourine sound that we’ve all heard before (Edward Sharp And The Magnetic Zeros), but it gives us so much more at the same time. The way X Ambassadors drift in and out during the verse… I don’t know, perhaps it’s just me, but something about this song gets me feeling something real.

I’ll admit the reason why I know about Troye Sivan is because of Taylor Swift, but who cares really. She has good taste. Sue me… Troye is just fantastic. This whole EP he’s released is full of incredibly heart-felt lyrics. I also loved The Quiet, if you’re in the mood for a little more Troye. Honestly, I hope this guy goes far. When Tay-Tay loves you, though, that tends to happen.

Other than the fact that Lauren Mayberry’s voice is AMAZING (we already knew that), this song is just so… pretty, for lack of a better word. It has this light, magical tone to it, while still giving off this slightly aggressive undertone with those synth yelps. This is one of those songs that I find myself getting really immersed in. You can lose yourself in it. I think we all need that kind of escape every now and then.

Anyway, I’m off to go do university things. I have a tumblr now, if you’d like it give it a follow. Click here to visit it.

Hope your night is as lovely as you are.
